Earth Day: One Small Action at a Time for a Lasting Impact

April 22 is Earth Day — a time to celebrate our planet and reflect on how much it needs love, care... and above all, concrete action.
While environmental issues can sometimes feel overwhelming, every small gesture matters. And the good news is, there are simple, accessible, and sustainable solutions — like those offered by Ressourcerie Éclipse in Saint-Jérôme.

At Éclipse, the environment is at the heart of our mission. By collecting donations from the community, we sort, repurpose, and give new life to items that would otherwise end up in landfills. This circular economy approach helps extend the lifespan of everyday objects, reduce waste, and encourage more responsible consumption.

In 2024, thanks to the generosity of local citizens and their conscious shopping choices, 27,000 items were given a second life. That’s 27,000 objects that, instead of becoming waste, are now being used and appreciated in new homes. That’s huge — and it’s all thanks to you.

Donating or shopping at the Ressourcerie is not just an eco-friendly choice. It’s also a powerful act of solidarity: it supports the local social economy, creates jobs, and helps build a more human and sustainable community.

This Earth Day, we invite you to take a small action that can make a big difference: think second-hand.
Whether it’s donating items you no longer use or choosing to buy pre-loved goods, you become a conscious consumer — someone who acts with the environment in mind.

And why stop on April 22?
Choosing second-hand can be a year-round habit. Together, let’s keep making reuse a reflex.

27,000 THANK YOUs to everyone who’s part of this beautiful mission.
